Imagine a soulful woman singer, twangy acoustic guitar, expressive bass, artistic percussion, and warm piano vibes!
The Watchbirds are an original "garage folk" band from South-Eastern Wisconsin.  They have a wide range of Influences hinted by the occasional covers they play.  But, their eclectic mix is softened by their desire to stay folk.  Established in 2015, they've slowly turned their hobby into a professional outlet for creative expression.

The Watchbirds released their first full length album, "Why Turbulence" (02/09/2019) with Emma Koeppel on piano. The album can be described as a tangled web of folk, rock, country, and ragtime-inspired music full of risk, uncertainty, tragedy, and hope. And lyrics from the song "Fragments" actually inspired the band name (see lyrics page).

As of January 2020, the band has been in the studio working on their sophomore album. They anticipate another 11 original songs (see concept art below). The album will feature Emma on many songs but will also leave space for Matt to make his debut!
